Choosing A biOrb Stand
The functionality of a biOrb stand, like the stand for any other aquarium, is basically to display and enhance the aquarium. After all, a stand is not a necessity. And many choose to simply place their biob aquarium on a sturdy tabletop or desktop. But, if you do want to show your aquarium off to its best advantage, a biOrb stand will help you to do that.
What To Look For In A BiOrb Stand
Having made the decision to purchase a biOrb stand, it is then worth considering just what sort of attributes you want in such a stand.
Unless you buy a store model, odds are you will be tasked with assembling the stand. So, although not a necessity, it helps to choose one that is easy to assemble.
Over the course of time, it is most likely that at some point you will purchase a new aquarium. To avoid having to purchase a new stand at that point also, think about initially buying one that will support the largest types of current biOrb aquariums on the market. This way, that is one less expense you have to worry about later.
BiOrb Aquariums come in all sizes - from 4 gallons all the way up to 60 gallons. Typically, however, the ones sold in most stores will be from 4 to 16 gallons. When choosing your stand, plan for the future. So, even if you are buying something as small as a 4 gallon starter tank, opt to buy the largest biOrb stand that you can afford. It will be sturdier and it'll save you from having to buy another stand when you eventually upgrade your aquarium.
Aquarium stands are made of various materials - wood, metal, and acrylic are the most popular building materials. Choose something that fits in with the decor of the room in which you plan to keep the tank. For example, if your are keeping it in the living room where you have lots of stylish oak, teak, or other wood furniture, think about getting a stand made of wood. If the aquarium will be situated in a family room, then a stand made of acrylic may be the better choice. Whichever you choose, however, be sure that it is rated to comfortably hold the weight and size of your water filled aquarium.
BiOrb Stand Convenience Considerations
A secondary function of most biOrb stands is to hide the clutter. Specifically, you don't want the electrical wires, the filters, and so on just dangling loose on the surface of the table or aquarium. So, look for a stand that has rear storage compartments to hide the clutter.
Most biOrb stands will be free standing pieces of furniture that allow you to place your aquarium in any convenient location. If, however, you live in an area that is prone to earthquakes, you may have to invest in a stabilizing belt and position your stand near a wall where it can be stabilized by the belt.
Aquarium Snails In the wild, aquarium snails are very beneficial creatures. They help with algae control and removal of dead and decaying plant material.
Tropical Fish Diseases Whenever you introduce a new fish to your aquarium eco-system, you have to be aware of the consequences of tropical fish diseases possibly impacting the current inhabitants.
